We are now accepting applications for BARTR artist-in-residence program to be held in October– November 2016.

The two month long session includes a well organised program of workshops, lectures and studio visits. The concept behind this format is to give residents a chance to engage with as many local initiatives as possible, while allowing enough time for self directed work. Participation in the program and workshops is optional, but encouraged.

In addition to the program, residents are expected to prepare a work (or works) for the final exhibition to be held at the end of the two month residency.

Budapest’s vibrant cultural scene demands a measure of independent exploration and we will be here to guide you and help you find what you are looking for while you are staying with us.

The fee for the entire 9 weeks is 1000–1200 EUR, depending on the accommodation chosen by the applicant (private or shared).

The fee covers accommodation, studio space, and the workshops. Residents are expected to cover their travel costs and daily expenses. Some materials can be bought directly from BARTR at subsidised prices.

*The program is not yet finalised and will be updated over the coming weeks.
